Popcorn Party!

Devan was so cute! He was relazed and enjoying his comfy chair and twizzlers!
Alex and Mason were really into the movie!

Erin and Rylee were my special helpers in getting all the popcorn passed out and as you can see much of it ended up on the floor! Oh well! We got a good laugh out of it!

Yeah! Everyone in Miss Workman's class knows their popcorn words! We had a BIG party with lots of popcorn and pop to celebrate our huge success! Great job Miss Workman's Class!

Great job Delaney!

Delaney passed all of her Kindergarten Reading Racer levels. She is zooming by and moving on the fast track of first grade words! Great job Delaney!

President's Day

The back of George Washington's hat has white and grey hair that hangs down and students can curl it with their pencils! They were so cute!

The George Washingtons stood very proud!
Here are our Abraham Lincolns. Not many students wanted to be him! I think the beard scared them!

We celebrated President's Day by learning more about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. The students also made hats and we wore them around the school to show our support for our country and our leaders. I thought they looked so cute in their hats!

Our Future Leaders

We are getting ready to celebrate President's Day on Monday. Students were traced and we made their shadows look just like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We are having fun trying to figure out our different shadows.

Valentine's Day Party

Delaney and Alex are talking over which Valentine's cards they got!

Reilley and Rylee with their green tongues! Oh.....there was so much sugar! Thank goodness we waited until the end of the day!
Bryon is always curious as to what others get too! He is checking out Joanna's stash too!

DeLanie is happy that she got so many nice Valentine's!

We had so much fun at our Valentine's Day Party. The kids were so excited! The whole day they kept asking, "When is the party Miss Workman?" I loved hearing all the "thank you's" as they opened their cards and candy. We had so much fun!

Reading Workshop

Here is how I make a three-some work. They all sit with their backs to one another and still can somewhat lean against one another and read to themselves.

Devan and Kayleigh are both sitting back to back and reading their independent reading books.
This week students have been working on making predictions as they read. I know!!! Can you believe it? They are 5 and 6! Students look for clues in the pictures and even the Titles of books to make a guess about what the story is about. They do such a great job at saying, "I think.......because.......!" I was amazed. This was a great week in reading!

Way to Go Erin!

Erin has passed all of her Reading Racer words for Kindergarten. She is moving on to First Grade words! Way to go girl!
